Types of Security Questions
A good security questions will not work for all people so it's a good idea to offer questions in a variety of categories. There are several types or categories of security questions:
Childhood
- What was your childhood nickname?
- What is the name of your favorite childhood friend?
Family
- What is your oldest sibling’s birthday month? (e.g., January)
- What is the middle name of your youngest child?
Favorites
- What is your favorite team?
- What is your favorite movie?
Firsts
- What is the first name of the boy or girl that you first kissed?
- What was the make and model of your first car?
Personal characteristics
- On which wrist do you wear your watch?
- What is the color of your eyes?
Pets
- What is the name of your grandmother's dog?
- What is the name, breed, and color of your favorite pet?
Education
- What school did you attend for sixth grade?
- What was the last name of your third grade teacher?
Work
- In what town was your first job?
- What is the street name your work or office is located on?
